 My vet uses Benadryl prior to vaccinations if there is a hint that there could be a reaction.  Steroids are used after if there is a reaction. Again, I will not give a vaccine to a pup that has had a reaction. That is my choice and my vet does not argue that point at all. |

 Anaphylaxis is because of the release of histamine from the histamine receptors.  Antibody response is from different receptors.  However, I see what you're saying, if prednisone suppresses both histamine response and is used to suppress immune response, why would you expect a vaccine to work?  That is a very good point. |
