White Like Worms in Poop... Storm has been having a loose stool for 2 days now, he is eating fine, activity level still the same he is drinking water etc. Well he just Pooped and Peed where he was because he couldn't make it to the Potty Pad in time and when I was cleaning it up I noticed a few White mucus looking worms moving back and forth:( in his poop. Has anyone else ever seen this? I'm taking him to the vet 1st thing in the morning. |

It could be tape worm. Does your baby have any fleas ? |

Storm is mainly a house dog but he goes out every Wed. for a walk during my child's dance class so he may have picked up something there... |

Be sure to take a stool sample with you to the vet tomorrow. They can treat him without, but it is good to find out what type they are. Does sound like tapeworms. |

Does anyone know of a good flea prevention and something to use to rid them in my home if we have them? |
|
I know a lot of people will tell you things to use. If I had fleas in my home, I would hire a professional and be done with it. I used to use Advantage monthly for fleas...and Heartgard for heartworm prevention. I no longer do flea treatment because my pups simply do not get them. Not sure how I am so lucky, but I will take it. :) I never had a problem with Advantage....used it for years. |

I just placed him on a white sheet and ruffled his hair for about 3 mins as well as went through it and I do not see any flea dust or fleas but he did just take a bath about an hour ago. I'll be sure to have the vet double check for me. Storm is my 1st puppy and I'm really worried. He started heartworm prevention 1st Feb so I really hope that he is alright. |

He could have ingested a flea outside somewhere. I would not worry too much. If you don't see fleas, it is doubtful he has any. |

UPDATE.... This morning when Storm pooped it was still soft but no worms so I did not get a sample to take to the Vet but the Vet did a sample and she stated that is sounded like tapeworms and gave a de-wormer. Checked for fleas and no fleas on him... I will keep an eye on him over time and I hope that he feels better soon. |
|
Thank you for updating! I am sure he will be just fine! :) |

Poor Baby... Hope he feels better. The de-wormer should help. I have used K-9 Advantix on Pnut since he was a pup. I love it! I never had any flea problems EVER! He goes everywhere too, parks, up in the mountains, groomer, day care... I believe it is a great product! |

Zoe had tapeworm when we got her, but any fleas were not to be seen. (They look like flat pieces of rice with kind of squared off ends.) Actually, I learned it's one loooooong worm that segments when it exits the body :sickie: Zoe's poop smelled TERRIBLE at that point in time, too. Watch out, 'cause when we gave her the de-wormer, MASSIVE amounts of tapeworm came out.. gag, gag, gag. BUT, then it was over. Good luck. |

 Definitely tapeworms |

Hope Storm is feeling better!! |
