My Happy had seizures yesterday I am devastated because it was a total surprise that my 3 years old yorkie could have seizures. Now he will be under medication for life. Please, tell me if there will be secondary effects and changes in his daily life. |
Corina, I posted a reply to you about the seizures under your first post about Happy's seizures. Hope you see it. My baby has seizures too. |
I am so sorry to hear this. I am sure your vet will be able to tell you more about what to expect. Do they know what caused the siezures? |
Seizures can be caused by many things, please don't let your vet just assume it's epilepsy and put him on meds. Have you had bile acid tests done to check his liver? Allergies can also cause seizures and so can exposure to chemicals inside your home such as cleaning supplies. Injuries to the neck and/or head can cause seizures too. If your vet hasn't run any tests please ask them to before starting meds. |
