Sick baby While i am waiting on the vet to call me back i have a 12 wk old yorkie. He seemed to be sick when i first got him two months ago but since then he had been fine running around playing barking ect. He was fine all day today and then about 30 mins ago i walk in and he has thrown up everything he ate today and now he is throwing up white bubblely stuff does anyone know what it might be. He is behind 2 wks on his shots but the last ones made him so sick i was scared to give him more. He may of gotten into some engine oil ( i think that because he kinda smells like it) dont know what to do. Now he is shaking but i think its cause he is cold. Gums are pink and wet. |
I hope you took the little one to the emergency vet right away... please update. |
Poor little puppy! :(Does that mean you got him when he was just 4 weeks??? My cavalier did that type of throwing up and it was acute pancreatitis? (which, I'm guessing..,ingesting motor oil might cause) |
Where did your baby get into engine oil? If you think he ingested it, take him to the ER vet. Hoping Teddy is okay. |
I hope you got him to the vet immediately. I would think engine oil could be deadly. |
Hi and Welcome to YT! Checking in for an update on your little one.... hope he's doing okay... |
He got into the oil at work i try to make sure there is never any on the shop floor but he ran in there yesterday and i guess ran through it and must of licked it off paws. He threw about about 11 times last night but he is fine today back to his old self playing biting and barking lol. Thanks for all the input. |
He may be acting fine but throwing up 11 times is A LOT for any dog especially a 12 week old. IMO, he needs to be checked by a vet just to be sure. Consuming something toxic can be deadly. Did you see a vet? |
This sounds pretty serious! You really need to go to the Vet and have blood work done. Engine Oil is dangerous. These little ones go down fast! You said he got sick from his vaccines? Because Yorkies are prone to so many genetic defects (like liver shunt) and bc he had a reaction to vaccines, I would have the Vet run a CBC and a Bile Acid Test to see his liver function. These are pretty inexpensive blood test, but well worth it! In the meantime, I suggest getting a play pen or expen to contain him in, so he doesn't get into more trouble, you've got at least another year of him being curious and mischivious! Walmart.com has some good play yards (if you do site to store, the shipping is free) |
Looking for update..hope all is fine |
