Worried about Scooter Yesterday Scooter had lose stool. Last night the same, today he has blood in his stool. I called the vet but the soonest they can see him is 2pm. I am so worried. He is not acting sick and he is still playing and acting like the same old Scooter but I know that blood in his stool is a bad thing. Please pray for my baby boy to be ok. My babies are spoiled :littleangRIP Sophie Lynn Mommy loves you |
Oh, Donna, I hope he'll be ok. You're getting him in quickly. Take a stool sample, or did you already think to do that? |
Hope things go well at the vets. Sending prayers to Scooter!! |
Just to calm you a little, blood in the stool isn't as serious for dogs as it is for people. Is the poop a little slimy too, like with some mucous in it? It could be colitis, my dogs will get that occasionally. It is when they have eaten something that doesn't agree with them. I usually feed them bland food like rice boiled in chicken broth. And then just some shredded chicken until their poop is better. Hope the vet will say it is nothing serious. Good Luck. |

Well I got Scooter to the vet and I took Sadie to because by the time it was time for Scooter's appointment, Sadie had the runs real bad but no blood. I did have a stool sample, I asked Jill, the receptionist if it would be ok to just bring in the pee pad that Scooter had went on and she said yes, so I did. Get this,,,my babies both have round worms. How did this happen? I asked the vet, when I brought them in for all their shots did you not de worm them? She said since both their stool samples came back negative that there was no need to. I just do not understand it, I thought all puppies got de wormed no matter what. So now that Scooter has lost 2 ounces, is dehydrated and is so sick, she de worms him. Am I stupid? I think something is not right here. My poor baby boy is on three different medicines plus the de wormer. I am watching him very closely, he is sleeping now. I guess I just do not understand how they both can go from testing negative to having full blown out worms in a matter of one month. If anyone knows the answer to this please tell me. Thank you all for the prayers for my baby Scooter. My babies are spoiled :littleangRIP Sophie Lynn Mommy loves and misses you |

Oh, I'm really sorry! That's just wrong of that vet. I, too, thought they did all puppies. I hope they'll recover from that very soon. I know they're in good hands. |

I'm so sorry this happened to you and your babies, Donna. :( I know how much you love them. I'm glad they are getting treated and on their way to recovery  |
I just fed them for the first time since this morning because the vet asked me to hold food for 6 hours. They ate like they were starving and I only gave them a little bit because she said to. I am wondering if I should give them more. Maybe I should wait and see what their stool looks like. I had to run to the store and I was gone 5 minutes and when I came in Scooter was crying for me, broke my heart. I will not leave him again while he is sick. Bless his little heart. He was wondering where his mommy was.:p They're so pitiful when they're sick, too.:( |
