Little Leo was attacked! And there was blood... I don't understand owners of aggressive dogs. My poor innocent Leo was attacked by a Scottish Terrier. Luckily the dog was not able to get a good hold of Leo and he ended up just suffering from a head wound, a few scratches and retaining a horrible memory. It all happened just as we were walking up to the front door of my bf's parents house. Just as the door opened the dog ran out and attacked Leo. It all happened in an instant. I was so mad at the dog's owner. If you have an aggressive dog, do not bring it around other dogs where a situation like this could occur. When i confronted the owner, she was in COMPLETE denial that her dog is aggressive at all. Saying that I was trying to blame her for what happened. Essentially, yes. Yes I was blaming her for not being responsible for her dog and letting a situation like this arise. It is the owners responsibility to train a dog not to be aggressive. What made me really mad was the fact that this is not the first time her dog has ever attacked another dog and drawn blood. Yet she still brings it to a family function where there will be SIX other dogs! I gave her an earful and she did not like what i had to say. I am just thankful that Leo is okay and only suffered minimal injuries. This could have been a much worse situation with dyer consequences. When things like this happen it just makes me rethink how lucky I am to have my little baby in my life brightening up each day. What a way to get greeted at the door.......That damn dog. (and owner) |
I'm so glad Leo is okay - must have been terrifying for him. We have a rottweiler we have to watch out for. Our now, 125 pound pyrenees cross was attacked when he was a puppy by this full, very aggressive male. Now he won't dare go after Zain, but he loves to attack smaller dogs. It's always a worry - I've talked to the owner, as she is at a loss why her dog is so aggressive - I told her to get her dog neutered and she pretended not to understand me. |
Glad Leo's OK! That must have been terrifying. |
Glad poor Leo is okay. I commend you for giving that lady a stern talking to. I know she would have gotten more than an earful from me... I would have made enough of a scene until one of us had to leave the gathering (and it would have been her). Then I would have gotten her a certificate for training classes  This is exactly why I'm so obsessed with training Rylie properly and exposing her to all kinds of situations. So I know how she will behave and she knows how she is SUPPOSED to behave. I don't want to have the dog that nobody wants to be around. I want the cute dog yes, but I also want my cute dog to be the one that is fawned over for being so well behaved. |
I am so sorry that happend to Leo and you had to be stressed out at the holidays! |
I'm glad he is okay. Dinky was grabbed by a Rottweiller once, and my DH got there just in time. THe dog dropped him, Dinky got loose and ran, ran, ran. A neighbor's little Chinese Crested was attacked by a German Shepherd, and sadly was killed almost instantly. It really does happen fast. Hold Leo close and be grateful that he wasn't hurt badly. |
Glad Leo is good. A few times Maxine Grabbed Carlo by the face and hung on as he walked away with her! |
I am glad it wasn't worse. |
Yes things can happen in a flash but maybe Leo won't put this in long term memory. Magic was attacked when he was about 12 wks old by a beagle. It was serious too, he did all the correct puppy things, went submissive on his back, and whimpering. But to this day he doesn't shy away from Beagles. Now on the other hand bulldogs he can't stand, he was growled and snapped at by a bulldog at a show, when he was about 14=15 months old, and he has never forgot. He doesn't like bulldogs at all! So sorry this happened to you and Leo, hope the rest of your holiday season is bright and happy |
Poor baby. Glad he is ok. |
I'm glad he wasn't hurt badly. I don't understand why people don't restrain dogs that have these kind of behavioral problems, since they can't seem to be bothered to train them. |
I'm so glad Leo is ok. What a terrible experience for the both of you. Please try to relax and enjoy the rest of the holiday with your precious little one. Merry Christmas....all is well now. |
Thank goodness Leo is ok. You are right...the owner is wrong. Hard to believe someone would take a dog aggressive dog out amongst other dogs. |

There are places that I will not take Kaji because I know he'll be unhappy. It's best to just leave him at home. |
Back in the summer I was walking Sophie and a dog came out of a yard where a bunch of people were sitting and drinking and this dog was huge and it had Sophie in his mouth before I could blink. I would never hurt an animal but all I could do was start kicking this dog and screaming at the people to get there dog. I guess I kicked hard enough because it backed off and a lady came running out the yard yelling at me for kicking her dog. I looked at her and simply said,,,,YOU ARE DAMN LUCKY I DO NOT OWN A GUN.....I was so pissed, she let her dog run lose, it attacks my dog and she gets pissed at me for protecting my baby. Some people have no clue that is all I can say to that. My babies are spoiled :littleangRIP Sophie Lynn Mommy loves and misses you |
