I need some advise Hi, I am new to this site and need some advise. I have a 4 month old Yorkie bitch who has been very ill for most of the time. She has now fully recovered but has started pulling out her hair on her stomach. I see "new" fluff..... What can I do to make her stop? Or is this normal? |
Welcome to YT. :) I would say that pulling out hair is probably an indication that something else is going on. Is she scratching the area? How does the skin look? What kind of illness was she battling? Glad to hear she recovered. |
Hi Maximo Thanks for coming back to me sooooo soon. Bella has a number of "difficulties. She had swelling of the brain (which caused some pressure). She also has a problem with her spine - apparently some Yorkie puppies do have this problem but outgrows it. And then, she got poisoned. She only goes out when she needs to go to the loo. And I don't have anything remotely dangerous around my apartment that she can eat. Which means that she ate something outside. I took her to the vet and he gave her a new shampoo. It seems that her skin is very dry and it can be from the shampoo I was using. So you probably can understand that I get very frantic when she is not her normal self. Thanks again. |
Sounds like Bella has overcome a lot. How does her skin look where she is chewing hair? Is it just dry, or is there any irritation or sores? I hope the new shampoo helps. |
