Vomiting what smells like poo Any one know what would make Muffin vomit something that smells like poo?! She has vomitied twice today about 15-20 minutes apart. Both smelled bad and kinda looked like diarrhea, but with pieces of dry dog food. She is sleeping right now by my side and seems to be ok, but any advice would be helpfu:confused::( |
Think I'd have a vet take a look at her... soon... |
I agree, take this seriously and take her to a vet. Better safe than sorry |
Did she eat any poop? I would take her to the vet and have it checked out. |
I don't think she ate any when we went out last...I am going to keep a close eye on her for rest of day, but will probably make appt to see her vet in the morning just to be sure...Our other inside dog, Lucy (not a yorkie) had what appeared to be a seizure earlier this morning..wonder if she got any of that..cleaned it up best I could, but Lucy did get up under couch too...may have missed some. Unable to move couch till husband comes home. I am having a terrible day of dog problems |

This is exactly what happened the 2nd time my Sissy contracted giardia. It looked and smelled like poop. Giardia can be contracted both in the lower GI tract (which usually causes diarrhea) and in the upper GI tract (which will cause vomiting). Please take your baby in as soon as possible. |
I am taking her to vet tomorrow...right now, she is her normal self..begging me to throw the ball for her to bring it back. We went back out a few minutes ago and played fetch with a stick (I swear she thinks she is a retreiver) but I am taking her in tomorrow none the less..thanks to all who replied, this is why I love yorkie talk!!! One more thing...should I try to feed her? Give her Nutrical? anything? Don't want her hypoglycemic... |
Sorry your pups are sick. I think I would do nutrical if she doesn't eat. As you know, it doesn't take long for them to have sugar problems. I don't think the nutrical can hurt, someone please correct me if I am wrong. I'd continue to feed and water normally, as long as she is eating and drinking. Make sure she is drinking, vomiting can dehydrate them quickly too. Pkease keep us posted....I really hope they both feel better soon!:holiday2: |
Gald to hear you are taking her to the vet. One of my girls did this once and she had a blockage in her GI trac. Keep us posted. |
Let us know what the vet says. I would expect a blockage to cause the same thing. Hopefully, that is not what you've got going on. |
:DJust back home from vet with Muffin...He gave her a clean bill of health! I guess, as careful as I am watching her outside, she must have found some poo in the yard. After my husband came in , we moved the couch where Lucy ended up during her seizure and it was clean under there..absolutely no signs (stains) where anything had been for Muffin to eat. Am so happy that Muffin is better! Now just wish my Lulu (Lucy) didn't have her health issues! |
