Please pray for Rocco Rocco is still not peeing more than just drips (see previous post): http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...sible-uti.html I managed to get a couple of ounces of Pedialyte in him overnight, and I just made him some boiled chicken with white rice which he devoured...I added plenty of the broth (the water I boiled the chicken in) so he could get some additional fluids in. He is also hunching his back (from pain I'm sure). I'm trembling and scared sick....he has been such a healthy puppy, I cannot believe this. When my husband returns from my son's peewee hockey game, the two of us are taking him in for x-rays. Please, please pray for my little man. :( I'll update when I can. |
I will keep Rocco in my prayers, I hope everything turns out all right, I know how scary it is when our little ones are not well. Sending hugs and positive thoughts. |

:icon1: Canine Hyperuricosuria You might want to read here on this condition. There are good links posted throughout the thread. It is possible with the small volumne of urine tested that crystals did not show up. Again, my hopes that the vet can find out what is wrong very soon |
I am so sorry he is doing so badly. I hope all will be ok when you go to the vet. Will definitely be praying for him. |
I'm so sorry he is ill. Sending prayers and hope the drs can diagnose him very soon and get him on the way to recovery. |
Hope the Vet finds out real fast what the problem is and gets him all fixed up! |

Sending prayers for Rocco. Please let us know what happens. |
Update: Still not sure what's going on  Sorry for the delay - just got home (vets then hospital with friend's mom admitted). The ER vet catheterized Rocco, did an abdominal x-ray, and expressed his anal glands. Nothing found at all...she even said the catheter went in "smooth as butter" so there wasn't likely anything being blocked. The drained urine is being sent for testing and culture, but did not have blood or appear to have any crystals in it. They are also doing fecal testing. HERE'S the real stumper (and best part): Rocco was immediately peeing better and feeling better after the vet's. As a matter of fact, he now CANNOT HOLD IT when he's asking to go out...some spills out at the door then he goes out and does the same thing - lifts his leg several times with nothing coming out except the first time. I'll wait to hear the test results tomorrow and Tuesday. Very relieved to this point, but I realize we're not out of the woods yet. Thank you for your warm wishes, it's sincererly appreciated after such an awful week. |
