Depressed from the weather?? I have Bebe and Mishka and we live in Arizona. Yesterday it rained all day and now last night and today Mishka is walking around with her tail down moping. She doesn't want to go outside and she goes from bed to bed and just lays there. She went to the bathroom normal today but she just doesn't seem herself. Can dogs get depressed over the weather? Its been 80's all last week and now its cold and wet. I wonder because she is 7, if she is sore or maybe has a little arthritis. I am worried because she is usually bratty and bossy although she is always lazy. Now She is just blah. Any ideas? I get paranoid which is why I am not calling the vet. (yet) |
It could be from the weather. Maybe you could try to get her to play with some toys to see if she will get playful. Good Luck!! |
Well normally she won't play with toys so... LOL. I just opened her pet purse and she ran in it and we went outside then she had a treat and was acting like herself. When that was over she went back to the bed and moped... Maybe she is just being a drama queen... |
bring her on up to Chicago and she will forget all about being depressed. Used to winter out in Anthem, AZ and one day it would be 80, the next day 50 and rain, and then drive to Sedona for snow.....dogs adapt. Doubt it is the weather. |

Yorkies get Grumpy? Say it aint so. :D |
She is hella grumpy today. Still sniffing for crumbs on the floor after lunch so I am thinking she fines fine but just wants to be left alone. I've never known a dog to be such a Biatch but that is one of the things we love about her is her drama queen attitude LOL |
Ha, I'm battling the same thing this year with the cold. It's -4 today, so I can understand, but he was doing the same thing when it was in the 30s, which he's used to. I'm trying to find ways to make walks and time outside more fun. He loves toys, so I'll take him out for short trips in the backyard and play with him. You might try something like that with treats. Have her go outside to earn a treat and then let her come back inside. If that doesn't work, just try to keep her active in the house so she gets a little extra stimulation. I hate to see them lie around all day, acting morose like the drama queens and kings the are. ;) |
Turns out she had a hurt back. I think she pulled a muscle from the cold. she got med and now she is doing great. Even spent a few days up in the snow. (with a parka of course):) |
Ah poor baby with the pulled muscle. I was going to say she was acting like I have been with the cold. I hate the cold! |
