They both pooped solid today!! I remember a lot of posts about their diarrhea in Health and Diet too - and I too really agree that they should see an Internist or a GI Vet.
From what you wrote above, it looks like you're giving pepcid on the Vet's advice, but that you're giving the Metro on your own, as a "back-up". Giving Metro without a confirmed reason for giving it can cause Metro-resistance in your dogs. So, if you've also been giving Metro in the past without a diagnosis, your dogs could already have resistance and this may be why they have a recurring issue.
Have they been checked for C.difficile? More than once? Or C.perfringens? Do they go anywhere on a consistent basis where other dogs are present? |
