Yorkie Diabetes Our 13 year old Molli has just been diagnosed with diabetes. Initially the Vet thought she had kidney problems, but now it is diabetes and possibly kidney problems also. Does anyone know anything about diabetes in Yorkies? I am stymied by this an don't know where to get any additional information. |
I don't know much about diabetes in Yorkies, but here's an eHow page I found, if it helps at all: Diabetes in Yorkie Dogs | eHow.com |
Go to this link and you can read stories from other parents of yorkies with diabetes: Pet Diabetes - Zaki has Canine Diabetes At the bottom of the page is a link to other stories. |
I think this site will be of assistance to you. There is also a forum on the site. I'm sorry your little one has diabetes. Diabetes in your Dog - Insulin, Food, Monitoring, Testing - Forum |
Sorry to hear this. We lost one of our little mini schnauzers to diabetes. He was about 10 or 11 when diagnosed. Its important everything is done on schedule. His shots (he took 2 a day) food and everything had to be at the same time each day. He lived 2 years after we found out. He did real well for awhile. Its hard on them and you too. Is your baby on insulin? All you can really do is just take the best care of them you can and pray. Hope your baby does good and you have many more years to love her and have her with you. |
