| Bella*s Mommy | 11-17-2010 06:09 PM | Exhuasted :( Bella Joi is 4 now, she had been on Hills ID prescribed from the vet due to chronic tummy problems as a pup. Things were fine...until money got tight, and unfortunately I made the terrible decision to switch her food to something more, "affordable". *Covers face with hands* I started mixing her RX food with Science Diet Little Bites. :thumbdown She was fine with the mix for nearly 6 months, until I started giving her the Science Diet alone. She started having unbelievably large bowel movements, and SUPER frequent. Meaning her pooping all over the house during the day. Then, staying up all night needing to go out.
I made an appointment for her to visit with the vet today...and was scolded of course for switching her food. The vet also explained her recent frequent need to poop is because her food is not digesting. I was feeding her before I left for work in the morning, and she was pooping it all out during the day. Then I would feed her dinner when I got home...and she stayed up all night needing to go out. Which has resulted in 3 lonnnng nights of no sleep. I am running on empty. Starting tonight, I gave her the Hills ID again as prescribed by the vet. She did say that she wasn't thrilled with the food, so she would eventually prefer to ween her onto a better food. But since she works well with it, it is a fix to the constant pooping and sleepless nights.
Long story- short...anyone know how long it will take for the Science Diet to be out of her system. She ate it for breakfast. Had a bowel movement this afternoon. Then ate the Hills for dinner at 7. Think I'll get some sleep tonight? Not only me...but she needs some sleep too!!! I feel so bad, she seems so wiped. Any help will be very appreciated!! |
