Mucus Stool I have a question for all of you - my 1 year old Yorkie has had loose mucus type stools today. She is eating OK (Innova), drinking OK, playful, etc. but has a yellowish stool. My brother and Dad were watching them yesterday, and I think they had a few too many treats and pizzles. Could a high fat, high protein diet cause the loose stool? Should I feed chicken/rice until then? Any help is appreciated...thanks!! |
Yes any food that is not their norm can cause loose stools and diarrhea. High fat foods can cause pancreatitis which is very serious. I would make sure if she gets worse to take her to the vet. I always tell my family that if they feed my babies anything they will be paying the vet bill. lol I hope her tummy clears up soon. |
1 Attachment(s) I agree. Different food can upset their little tummies. My older pek can no longer have treats because her tummy can't digest. Ally can pretty much eat any treat. Tia has problems with any new treats. The neighbors' would try to give them a little something if we were having a play date. We no longer let anyone give them anything. Good luck and hope your baby feels better soon. P.S. GO BEARS!!! We are all wearing our Bears' jersey tomorrow...even the furbabies! Don't forget yours! |
Thanks for the info - she seems OK, but just ate a ton of food and is now kind of coughing/gagging. She hasn't thrown up, and she is acting O.K. she started gagging/coughing and her stomach felt rumbly when I was holding her after drinking a lot of water. I just worry about her... P.S. I am going to the Bears game tomorrow with my Dad :) |
