I did use the human Poison Control line once with great results. They dx'd my husband over the phone! Told me to start checking his body for a bite -- sure enough -- he had been bit by a brown recluse and was indeed poisoned. |
any update on this little one????? pancreatitis can be fatal, i hope this little one is doing better and has been to the vet. normally when they have pancreatitis they are hospitalized for days and are not allowed ANY medication, food, or water, or anything else by mouth. any medications and fluids must be given through iv. i lost a little girl nika at 6.5 years old from pancreatitis and hypoglycemia, even though we got her to the vet immediately after bloody stool, got her 24 hour care and did everything humanly possible to save her, she just didn't pull through. so it is very serious! please give an update, hoping the best for you and your little one...... |
Checking for an update... I pray the OP took him to the ER clinic. |
Although dog medications are OFTEN the same as human medications, unless told by a vet HUMAN MEDS SHOULD not be given to doggies. I found this out the hard way too! Its not a stupid/dumb or silly question. NO SUCH THING! There are different fillers, preservatives and such in each. I suggest you take him to a vet. Use a natural detox for doggies (amber tech and azmira both have GREAT detox and cell rejuvenations) I hope you baby gets better. |

Checking for an update? How is your little one? |
I was hoping we would have an update on this little guy by now. |
I cannot believe that anyone would give a small dog percocet  Would you give it to an small child? I hope you got him to a vet and everything is OK. |
hi, just wondering if there has been any developments with the :aimeeyorkbaby? |
Max is doing WONDERFUL. After talking it over with my vet, she explained that the med had already ran its course and the best thing to do was let him sleep and rest. i also called the poison control as they told me the amount was tiny enough that he would be ok. believe me, lesson learned. The only reason i gave him a quarter of a percocet is because after he had surgery months ago they gave him tramodal. i thought it was all the same. |
er asap not good for dogs, pain meds only as prescribed by vet |
So glad to hear he pulled through okay... very scary situation... |

As a rule, I would just never give a narcotic of any kind to your pet without it being specifically prescribed in the appropriate brand, strength and option for your tiny pup! That is probably already your game plan but just in case others are reading this months down the road, I thought I'd emphasize it. Again.... I'm just glad to hear Max is doing well! Pancreatitis is no fun and extremely painful! |
thank you for updating and so very happy max pulled through! |
