Ladyjane: Already threatened to castrate him, I think this time it sunk in! I also did advise him that next Vet visit is all his!!! As for the Milkbone treats, they are the small ones for small breeds and she gets half of one a day. We also give her "Nature/Natural Balance" All Natural Treats(?). Got them at Petco, she likes those as well. I break them up into like 4 or 5 pieces since they are so big, and spread them over a few days. We do no like to give her too many cookies. Rather give her low fat yogurt, she gets just enough to wet her lips... Yorkieusa: Yes, We are so excited to get into our own place!! I am sure Bailey will be excited to have a new place to call her "Kingdom"!! LOL Someplace to call her own!!! Sammy mommy: Thank you, we are also happy she is getting better by the day!!! I sure wish there was a way to stop her snoring!!! It is the funniest thing, when she sleeps on her side, she snores like a Sailor!!! Have to move her to get her to stop!! And my Wife says I snore bad!!! Guess she is more like me than I thought!!! LOL More Pics up in my album!!! Enjoy!!!!!!! |

Hahaha...might be more effective! :p |
WooHoo! Glad she's doing better.... Just a note: I'd go easy on the yogurt/dairy products.... some pups are lactose intolerant and that can cause loose stools. If you stop it for a few days and see if she improves further... A better product for her might be probiotics... helps to put good flora in the gut... ask you vet about it.... I give it to mine with every meal. Helps their appetites (especially after antibiotics) and helps to fight off minor bugs than can give them the poops for a day or two. :D |
kjc: Believe it or not the yogurt does not bother her, and when she was ill back in June, the Vet said to give her cottage cheese or yogurt, whichever she would eat in order to take her meds and give her protein. It is all "crap" my cousin sneaks her that messes with her tummy. I think I finally got that to stop, and for the last few days no soft or looses stools. I have even given her cookies, and nothing. I knew it had to be what my cousin was giving her!!! I eat lowfat yogurt as part of my diet. I give her a bit when I eat it, and usually it is only vanilla flavor. Not every day, just once or twice a week. Same with frozen lowfat/no fat soft serve yogurt. It is more of a treat than anything, and it is an occasional treat. I would say in all, she gets maybe an 1/4 teaspoon or less at a time. We have been giving it to her since we brought her home, and she never had any issues. Other things that we have given her are lettuce, carrots, jicama, and watermelon. The Vet said things like that are good for her in moderation, and help keep her diet balanced. At one time she starting gaining weight, and became extremely concerned. We figure it was the egg she was getting everyday from grandma. We knocked that down to a couple times a week, then at dinner would give her the veggies. She loved it, and started losing weight. She went from being over 6 pounds back to 5 pounds which we were told was a "comfortable" weight for her... She is doing well, but is right a 6 again, but because of her illness over the past few months, the Vet said not to make any drastic changes for a while. I think now that she is on the NB food, and is eating and drinking regularly, her weight will start coming down again. Well, off to run errands... Have a great day, and even better weekend!! The in-laws will be here tomorrow or Saturday, so the Baby will see her other set of grandparents... Talk to everyone later!! |
 I do not know your cousin but nonetheless I must second the motion of castration should he continue to feed your baby crap! Peggy, Monkey & Maddie :daisy: |
It's so good to read that she continues to do so well. I know it had to take a load off to see her feeling better. Hope you all have a great weekend as well. |
