could this be another problem? Widget will be two. He was diagnosed with legg-calve-perthes and had a FHO done at 9 months. I have noticed that he has such thin hair more-so since I have another pup from a reputable breeder that has gorgeous hair. (I think that makes Widget's hair more noticable). He has never had thick hair even as a puppy. Could this mean that there is something wrong with his thyroid? He eats fine has never had a lot of energy but does play. The only symptom is that his hair is very thin and always has been. Should I rush him to the vet for tests if that is the only reason I am concerned? I hate to spend money on tests if there really isn't any reason to. He seems to have more hair on his head and back then his legs or belly. |
Well, my Moka is a puppy mill puppy and she doesn't have the best coat either. There can be so many different variations thin, thick, cotton, silky, red leg, etc. I have often wondered about her thyroid too, but I think it is just her poor breeding. She eats well, acts happy and well, and as far as she's concerned, she's a diva! But, I don't ever have to worry about it matting and it looks as healthy as it can look for what she was born to work with. |
