I need help please asap I need so HELP PLEASE....my Bella was running around the yard acting fine and the next minute she started trying to throw up kinda a little foamy....she then became non-responsive and want even move, she has a warm nose, we gave her Karo syrup and pedialyte she moves just a little bit, do you have any suggestions as to what it may be or what we can do to help her. We don't know if she got hold of a frog or bug or maybe she has obstruction. There are no emergency vets here.....Any suggestion would be wonderful..... |
Look in your phone book for a Dr that is open ASAP!!!!! |
I know GA doesn't have many ER vets, but she does need to see one immediately. I'm sure there is one within 1 or 1.5 hours of you (we vacation there and I've looked them up). How far is Brunswick from Atlanta? Call the vet school or ER that is closest to you and ask what they want you to do while you head there. If she is swelling up anywhere, they may have you give Benadryl. She could come out of it by herself, but that isn't a safe bet. |
This place has after hours emergency service Golden Isles Animal Hospital Brunswick Georgia Veterinary |
I'd get her to a vet asap. Hope she's okay. |
I did call this office, it's Dr. Hornbuckle. The last time I looked during an emergency she wasn't there, so thanks. I also called my vet at home. He seemed to be ok with it. We're going to watch her through the night and keep her hydrated with pedialyte and take her in in the morning. She's some better, Bill put her down on the floor and she walked to a pillow to lay down, that is the first time she's walked since this incident. I'm going to keep offering her the pedialyte every 20 minutes or so. I don't want her to have to go through IV treatment if I can help it. Thanks to all of you. I'm not going to sleep tonight. I just can't. Quote:

Jacksonville or Savannah must have an emergency vet, those would be the closet, I would think. If Bella is still unresponsive I urge you to find a place to take her. You don't want to lose her and it's much better to be safe than sorry. |
Oh my gosh....I hope she made it through the night, this is really scary. Hoping for a positive update. |
I hope the OP comes back and updates us. |
Just checking in to see how your little one is, we are hoping everything went well last night. |
Hope your baby is doing better today.... I'm thinking maybe heatstroke... if she's improved I would still get her to the vet... there may be more they can do, plus you need to get a definite diagnosis as to what actually happened. Keeping her in my prayers.... |
I'm hoping and praying that Bella is doing fine now! |
my friends yorkie was doing this and she took him to the vet and the vet gave him an x-ray and said "his stomach was just sore and there was something wrong with his intestines" so she gave him chicken and rice instead of his food, to settle his stomach. |
Hope everything is okay! Hope the OP comes back for an update! Sounds like an obstruction to me, but those are so hard to treat without knowing what it is.... need an X-Ray to determine the best course of action if an obstruction is suspected... |
Hopefully the OP will come back soon to let us know how her dog did during the night. |
