My heart goes out to you and Candy. I lost my Gracie at 6 1.2 to CT. It was so sad to watch her decline. I truly believe you will know when the time is right. With Gracie, after a very bad attack I asked my vet what do to and she said She is struggling for every breath and no longer enjoying life. I made the hardest decision to let her go. You are both in my prayers. |

At any rate, I don't want to dwell on the negative. Sorry! I just feel for you and your situation and hoping for some good days ahead for you. |
Im so sorry I cannot imagine your heartache that you are going through, chester being sick a few days ago was enough for me, sending you prayers |
Candy appears to be on the up!!!!!! 2 Attachment(s) :) Hi There all you caring people out there! We took Candy for a second opinion on Friday and was told that it could possibly be due to the heart medication (enanapril) that she has been so sick. We were told to stop the medication immediately and see how she goes for the next 4/5 days. The Vet said that that particular heart midication lowers the blood pressure to enable the heart to cope better but that in itself can cause dizziness and weakness and nausea and therefore loss of appetite and basically lots of side affects just like Candy's. The Vet gave Candy a steriod injection and an anti-inflammatory injection and also a health food to feed to her through a syringe 3/4 times per day. She has very slowly improved ever since Friday. Her breathing is almost normal and she is much stronger than she was and appears to be getting stronger each day. She did actually eat a small bowl of boiled chicken with rice yesterday and a doggy chew. The whole family jumped for joy, it really was a site to behold. She is now asking to go out to the toilet instead of doing it wherever she is. She is certainly showing small signs of OUR Candy and we all feel like it is Christmas in this household right now. I will be starting her back on her water medication on Tuesday and will keep a very close eye on her to see the affects and will not be giving her any heart medication at all right now until and unless the vet finds an alternative to the one that she was on. I want to thank you all so much for all your advise and best wishes and I really do believe that Candy would not be here right now if it was not for all of you out there being there for her. She is so so grateful and so am I. I will keep you all informed as to how she is doing. Candy's very happy mummy. x x x:animal-pa:wavey::thumbs up:lovewings:yorkietal |

Your original post made me cry, as did the poem that someone put on here. I have now got to the last page and see how your spirit has lifted. God bless you and little Candy and I hope she contiunes to make a recovery. With our love Lorraine and little Alfie x x |
I am overjoyed reading this. I really believe my little girl Kiwi knew that Enalapril was bad for her. She was taking a number of other medications, but she fought so hard when I tried to give her that. I told the doctor that something had to be up, because of Kiwi's reaction to it. He took bloodwork because she wasn't getting any better and also listened to my pleas about that medication. That's when we discovered it had started to damage her kidneys. I'm sure your Candy is fine from it; she probably couldn't adjust to the side effects. As I said before, my Ashley didn't have any problems tolerating it (a smaller dose than Kiwi, but I was still terrified to give it to Ashley). My sister-in-law takes enalapril also. Thank you so much for letting us know how your baby is doing. This just brought tears of joy to my eyes. |
I was so upset after reading the first post. Prince also has CT and I understand. I was nervous to get to the last post, but I'm glad I did, and I'm overjoyed that it is good news. I will keep you and Candy in my prayers. |
