Aleve liquid jell cap My boy Harry ate a Aleve jell cap that rolled on to the floor. The 3 year old is at the Vets to fix the dammage to his system this OTC drug caused. I believe he will be OK but the results could have been death had we not have taken him to his doctor. Please be careful with any medication you maybe using and see your little girl or boy does not get ahold of anything. |
Can you tell me what kind of damage it caused? I hope you're lil boy will be okay. |

These little guys are quick!! It's best to take your medication out over the sink so you don't risk dropping it on the floor. I hope he has a quick recovery :) |
Thank goodness you acted so quickly!! I'm so happy to hear he'll have a full recovery. Sending him some get well huggins. Bonny |

Aleve is Naproxen, a Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. Low dosages are used in dogs to treat swelling/pain. But it's easy to get a toxic amount of the drug. Like all NSAIDS, it can cause stomach bleeding and lead to kidney damage. Naproxen Toxicity in Dogs To the OP, thanks for the reminder. I hope your little one recovers quickly. |
The 250 mg cap is beyond the ability for a 11 pound puppy to handle, a delay can result in a hole eaten thru the stomach and destruction of the kidney. We are suppose to have him home friday. |
