The only thing I can add to the aforementioned advice, is have you tried giving him cod liver oil. I have a Maltese who has IBD (Intestinal Bowel Desease) and he got extremely sick about three years ago. Vomitting etc. Three vets told me to put him down. Instead, I researched what they would do if I got the same condition. I read books on IBD and realized that diet played a very important part in the healing. One of the thing I learned was that fish oil help heal the digestive tract. The Maltese is now three and 1/2 years older and he is like a puppy. I give him a bland diet of chicken, baby food 2nd stage, chicken beef or lamb and mashed potatoes (the potatoes help to bind him) I include vitamin supplements to his food and cod liver oil.
When I took him back to the vet they didn't recognize him. He used to throw up all the time. Now he never throws up anymore. |
