Trupanion Hi: No I don't think so. The industry says it would be too expensive to cover the items you mention. I got insurance to cover the real EXPENSIVE care such as accidents and extended Vet stays. I worked out that the total insurance cost would be around $5,000 over the dog's expected life, which seemed a good risk deal for me. Like all insurance, it seems expensive until you use it. LOL. It is good to start as young as possible. After sign up there is a 5 day waiting period for accidents and 30 days for illness etc. PS. There is a link on this page that gets you $15 off the sign up fee for Trupanion if you use the link. |

Insurance Choices, choices. LOL! A $250 deductible would not be for me, and $30/mo extra is $360/year (If it is per month and not year!) compared with the $600 coverage. It is good to have routine and dental, but I felt it was a wash because of the extra fee. Also the fee not increasing with age with Trupanion was very important to me. It is very hard to decide I know and it just depends what you think is your predicted usage and if the insurance is a good deal for your needs and budget. I think the deductible is for each incident, but I am not sure. If so, that is a big chunk of money each time, unless the monthly fee is so much lower for that. Good Luck and I feel for you having to decide, having been through the pain myself. LOL! |
I went with trupanion pet insurance. I chose zero deductible and I only pay $32 a month.....they reimburse for 90% of any testing or meds coverage is for illiness and accidental injury, no life time limits. I'm hoping I'll never have to use it. |
Insurance Hi RileyDC: Me too! I hope we never need it, but better to be safe than sorry. |
