Lump found on left side of throat Hi, This is my first post and need some input. I have a 14y/o female named Sadie. This morning I was petting her and found what feels like a lump on the left side of her throat. Any ideas? She will be going to the vet on Monday. |
Her lymph nodes may be enlarged due to infection or perhaps something more serious. Your vet may decide to biopsy it. Good thing you already have an appointment. Hope she's okay. |

I found a lump on the side of my dog's throat and it was one of those "more serious" problems. Your vet may try antibiotics first, and if that doesn't work, proceed with a biopsy, which is what my vet did. It didn't o any harm, but it didn't do any good either. The internist I take a few of my older dogs to thinks all lumps need to be biopsied. I pretty much agree with this now. I won't let anything pass as probably benign and go for the biopsy. I hope it's nothing, I'll keep your baby in my thoughts. |
Hi guys Dexie is only 10 months old and it feels like a lump the size of a golfball on his throat, he was at the vet 2 weeks ago because he hurt his foot,so I wondered if it could be the injection.I am crazy worried. Please share any info.thanx |
It could be a cyst....just relax and have the bet look at it. If the lump freely moves and is in the skin, ...thats better. |
What did your vet say? It could have even been a tooth causing an infection. |
I am taking him today,i fear for cancer, cause my baby is my life. Do you guys know anything about cancer in dogs? |

I just found a lump on the right side of my yorkie throat..13 yrs old. He has had various lumps removed surgically on tail on top of butt back of hip..and this one is near the thyroid. Under skin and the size of a dime. I have a vet apt. but any more ideas out there as to what it could be. Do not know how long there...just found it. This is a yorkie that has had bronchial trachea problems through the years. Kind of a very nasal dog. I have many dogs and vets give me antibiotic for emergencies and decided to put him on the amox to see if it helps till we get to the apt. One yorkie is diabetic and now this one with this problem...sad. thanks NJ |

I really hope it's nothing serious. It could just mean he has an infection somewhere. Please let us know what the vet says. |
