AllDogBoots, what a difficult time for you! I was thinking how over 20 years ago, the vet care was not too expensive as it is now. Max is very lucky to have you to love him and want to help him. Bless you! Max and you are in my prayers. |
I just read this thread- I am praying for you and Max- You are an amazing mommy- he is so blessed to have you- we are all here in support of you |

Hoping that you will get answers soon for Max. I know that there is a huge financial burden but it will all work itself out... it always does. I know it may seem astronomical but I promise you that down the road, you will see that EVERY penny of it was well spent. With what I went through with my Ginger, I would do it all over again, if I had, too.... there would be no doubts. Sure, her vet care was considered my birthday, anniversary, and Christmas gifts lol but she was totally worth it! lol Its such an emotional rollercoaster though. Know that we are here praying for you and many of us have been in your shoes. We know what its like... the confusion, the anxiety, sadness, wanting to be hopeful, just wishing it would all just go away, etc...its normal... don't beat yourself up if you have "bad thoughts"... we are human and we have to process things. Max is EXACTLY where he is supposed to be and that is with you.. who knows what would have happened if he was still with the breeder or someone else? (((hugs))) |
im so sorry to see what your going thru, keeping you and your furbaby in my thoughts and prayers. |
We are all praying for you and your little one... If the breeder is being difficult, have a look at your contract, It's a legal agreement and she has to respect that. Once given a diagnosis of something, check the agreement, if it's on there she HAS to hold up her end, or you have grounds to take action to enforce it. (or at least that's how it works in Canada). I know that's the last thing you want to think about right now, but if it comes down to something in the agreement and you don't want the stress of an unhealthy puppy it is your right as a consumer to be provided with a new puppy or refund if your contract says so. If the breeder knows what is good for her reputation, she should be helping you NOT making this even harder. Keep us posted, I hope it turns out to be something that's an easy fix. We are all praying for Max and you. |
keeping my fingers crossed that you get a diagnosis.. he is in good hands.. keeping you and Max in my continued thoughts and prayers..((hugs)) |

Thanks everyone. I'm expecting to hear from the vet this morning just to discuss his status. I believe they will be doing the BATs over and he has his brain MRI at 11am. |
Good luck on the MRI and I hope the test results are good! |

Someone ( i think maybe LadyJane) mentioned some kind of medical insurance. I can't find the post but would like to look into this. Does anyone know? |

I have Embrace on all mine, and PetPlan is another I think has excellent coverage. Both of these cover genetic problems like LP and LS, as long ast they're not pre-existing at the time coverage becomes effective. No insurance will cover pre-existing/already diagnosed illnesses or injuries. |
Someone mentioned a free trial that comes with your AKC registration. You did post that you had found it... Hopefully that'll help you find it again...:D |
