Vomit & Diarreah My baby Dora was vomiting all night and pooping until it was just water coming out, her vomit was very foamy and kinda red. She is better today, eating and drinking water, her stool still soft and she is only eating dry food. I just move to a new state and we do not have a vet yet, my grandmother believe that she was probably playing with a frog and got sick, she has 2 dogs and they have done that before. Do that sounds right?:( |
I would be very worried about dehydration. I've heard about the frogs in TX making a pup foam at the mouth but I am not sure about the vomiting and diarrhea being caused by a frog. It is probably a very good idea to take her to the vet to be seen. |
Hi! My Little one had the exact same problem a few days ago. She may have caught a stomach bug. What i would suggest is letting her stomach rest for 24hrs. When we have a stomach bug, we eat light (chicken soup etc), same goes for Yorkies. My vet advised me to not feed her her regular food (as is it too rich and calorific). Instead, keep her hydrated with water and perhaps a little boiled white rice for dinner. If yours vomits foam and yellow bile when on an empty stomach, I (my vet) suggest giving 1/8 tsp of pepto bismol or 1/8 or a tablet of pepcid AC to your little dog. Mine did not like pepto at all, so i took a little bit on my finger and slowly fed it to her at night. The next day, she was a lot better, no dirrarhea (soft stool, but not watery) or vomitting. By the 2nd day she was back to normal and eating her regular food. I hope this helps. |
She got better yesterday, but last night she was up pooping again all night...I hate to see her sick and she is so tinny, so we went to the vet this morning and he gave her some antibiotic and 2 medicines for her tummy. I still don't know what cause all this. They did not find bacteria in her stool:confused:. On the other hand the vet said that because the stool sample was so water like that is hard to see traces of any bacteria. |
Glad you took her to the Vet and hope they get her back on track! |
