McDreamys tummy might be upset? Sick? McDreamy doesnt seem to be feeling well, but I'm not sure. With the economy these days, a trip to the vet at $80 is just not something i can do right now. any advise woudl sure help in the meantime. Typically I've already left for work,so im not real sure HOW Mcdreamy would be acting. He's not runing around the house, seems a little "ugh". I did notice, that he had a "chunk" of poop stuck to his bottom, so i picked him up, and washed him off. This has happened like 3 times alreeady in the last couple weeks. hummm. what i HAVE noticed for like a week now, is that in the morning when im getting ready, i noticed he;s thrown up (or coughed up) some kinda Yellow stuff, could be he has an upset tummy, but not sure what i COULD give him first, to see if it helps. Rice? any ideas. thansk so much.:( |
If he's throwing up in the mornings for the past week, I would definitley see a Vet. It should not cost you $80.00 for a visit unless they had to do some testing. How old is McDreamy (love the name) and what does he normally eat? |
Boy oh boy, do I know what you mean about vet visits. Especially these days:( It sounds like it's possible that his tummy is just too empty in the mornings, and you could try feeding him as soon as y'all wake up, and after he's used the potty. Just something small, a spoonful of plain yogurt, cottage cheese, even hand feed him some of his kibble;) My Luna does the same thing if she doesn't get her "cookie" immediately upon awakening and going pee pee. She won't eat kibble in the mornings, so I give her a little DVP Natural Balance biscuit, they're about the size of two of the kibbles I'd try that, and in the meantime call your vet on the phone and ask what they think, if they want him to be seen. They should be willing to help you a little bit over the phone. If he is drinking water and eating okay for the rest of the day, it's probably the empty tummy syndrome, but these little ones can go downhill really fast. So if he's not drinking or eating his food at all, he MUST go to the vet immediately. Hope your darling is all better fast:love: |

I just gave mcdreamy about 2 tablesppons of steamed rice, he went nuts, and ate it" I'e heard steamed rice helps upset tummies??? he wants more??? |
The yellow, foamy vomit in the morning sounds like my younger boy. Our vet confirmed that Teddy needs small amounts of food at regular intervals. We only had this problem once and I cured it by doing trick training with food rewards before bedtime -- that way he has a few kibble in his tummy. How are your little guy's poops -- soft or firm? |
Boiled chicken and rice is supposed to be good to settle the tummy. I agree with the others though; if it's just a little bile being vomited up first thing in the am; it may just be that his tummy is empty. I always give Lucy a little snack before bed - like cheerios or a small chicken treat so her stomach won't be too empty. Keep us posted ok? Good Luck. |

this evening, mcdreamy was hungry. I had given him just about 1/4 cup (actually probably less than that) of steamed rice earlier before i left for work. he ate it (gobbled it up actually), and when I got home about 6 pm, he was hungry. I DID give him a little of his kibble (Prarie) WITH alittle rice in in, he ate it. SO, what it looks like over the last week or so, is that he doesnt always eat his breakfast, so im not sure WHY he'sthrowing up. could it be from the night before? so, when he DOESNT eat breakfast, he seems almost Famished with hunger when i get home. so im gonna keep an eye on him tonight, (i dont THINK he needs any more food) and see what happens in the morning. Please keep McDreamy in your prayers. thanks much ;) |

Sometimes their tummy is just empty when they go all night without eating; like most of us do. However, it can cause them to throw up a little yellow bile. Bedtime snack or snack upon waking might do the trick. Sorry if I'm repeating; it's time for bed here! |
I just wanted to say I love Mcdreamy's name. :) You have already been given some good advice, I hope your adjusted feeding schedule fixes his problem. My youngest has to eat a snack before bedtime or she throws up bile in the a.m. too. Please keep us updated. Prayers you little guys has a good night and morning. |

You don't necessarily have to give food this often. A little bit before bedtime is key. What brand food is Prairie -- is that Acana? |
I re-read your initial post -- if McDreamy is home alone during the day, make sure you get something in his tummy before you leave for work and leave his kibble out for him. Then make sure he eats a little something before bed. |
