I think that it is good to demand the skin testing, also maybe take him to a vet dermatologist - they know their stuff. Pricey but worth it. |
Are the scaps spreading all over the body? It probably won't hurt to get a second opinion since this is your third trip to vet and no answers. |
I would suggest to change vets if any possible... we had to go through 4 vets and a unnecessary surgery until we found the one vet that diagnosed Maggie right with severe food and environmental allergies... |
@gemy if they are itching him he cant scratch them that good becuase of the area they are located on. n the scabs are in the shape of a circle i could pick at them and they fall off but you see like a skin rash or abbration behind the color would be a dark brown or black and no theres no blood @mysweetbabies they have only spread from on side of his neck to the other and now he has 2 on his chest i have check every where else but havent found any. i have even thought about having all his hair removed (but would hate to do so since his hair is what makes him so adorable) to see if he has more else where @mitzis mom i have seen 3 different vets already i am waiting for the test results if not im going to have to switch him to other pet hospital which i would hate to do so since he has been going there since he was a baby=( |
I would call the groomer to see if they've had any outbreaks of anything for starters. In the meantime, while you're waiting for results, I would apply coconut oil to the lesions, and be careful as it may be something that can be transmitted to humans. |
My Roxy have some skin problems as well Roxy is 4 months old and I have her since she was 10 weeks. I noticed in the fist few days she moved with us like a little blister in her chest. I also remember taking it off and putting antibiotic ointment in the little scar since I tought it could be a scratch or cut made by her brothers or sisters in the litter. It dissappeared from there, so I did not pay any attention to it anymore. I also took her to her first vet examination after "adopting" her and the vet did a complete examination to her and found everything normal in the skin. This week I was checking her for fleas, since I noticed her scatching herself and found some blisters in her chest. I also found some in her front legs, so I took her to the vet, since I have two human babies which I have to look at as well. The vet scaped her skin and checked in the microscope to see if it was some contageous disease, but told me that the test was negative and that it might be some allergic reaction. I told him that I used to desinfect her area with hypoclorite and water, since she still have accidents from time to time and he told me to suspend the use of it and to clean the are with vinegar and water instead. He also gave pills. I am in the process of changing her diet from Royal Cannin to Sojos Veg and adding fresh protein which she loves. Does anybody knows if that kind of allergic reaction might come from the grains in Royal Canin? I also give her calcium, kelp powder and omega 3,6 and 9 with her food. I am not thinking the sojos or the suplements might be the problem, since it started before I started to give them to her. |
get a second opinion at another vets office. It is ridiculous that they don't seem to care or give you an answer!! I have no idea what this could be, but keep us posted and good luck with your baby! |
