Kenzie just threw up :s Can I feed Kenzie a bit or give her some water if she just threw up? She's playing, while suddenly her tummy started to make some noises like a washing machine or something like that, my sister and me grabbed her and started to give soft pats on her back and she threw up, what looked like her kibble. She's running and jumping now, called the vet and he told us to not feed her or give her water til tomorrow. We feel so bad cause she's looking for food. Could this be happening because since she started to lose her baby teeth last week, she's not chewing but "vaccuming" food? Gave her like 3 drops of Karo syrup afterwards, just in case. She's 2lbs and 5m/o. |
Rosie will throw up occasionally. I do not take away her food and/or water unless she is throwing up a lot. She has a sensitive stomach and it is not uncommon for her to throw up. I am not a vet but if she just threw up once I am not sure it is necessary to keep the food and water away. Maybe someone else here will know more about it. I hope Kenzie gets to feeling better. |
I personally would follow the vets advice. I sadly have way too much experience with an ill dog. I DO take food - not water away and the next day I will give just small portions to see if the dog can tolerate the food at that point. You say her tummy was making some really loud noise, I would def. not feed her. She may be upset that she can't eat right now and that makes you feel bad, but won't it make you feel worse if her tummy is hurting and she vomits again? |

Thank you, will def. wait to feed her again. She seems okay now, no more noises or vomit. Will wait and see what the vet says. She's back to her usual mischief now and just woke me up (its 5.30 here) cause she wants breakfast, will wait a bit more to feed her though. |
