Sneezing to much Today I got up to Minnie sneezing. She was sneezing so mush that she was having a hard time brething . I called the vet and made an apt for 2;00. I took her in and He checked her all out said she seemed fine to him. He didn't even run any test. I even asked if he could run test to see whats wrong with her. He said probably just allergies. He asked if I shampooed the carpet or bathed her in any thing different if I changed her food. I said no to all of it. every things the same . He just stood there smiling. I was so upset I took her home and feed her some rice and chicken and some cottage cheese. She ate it all. Now she has the runs. When we sit in the waiting room she was still sneezing . When we got into the room she didn't sneeze not once and then in the car she did but only two times. The poor girl was so drained. She seems fine now.after eating she slept for about 20 minutes then started playing. she then went to sleep again . All the breeders in my area that I know say this vet is really good. well I don't think so he didn't do any thing for us. The sneezing was bad enough but her acting like she was having a hard time breathing scared me to death . I have never seen a dog sneeze for hours like that. I did run the Kerby and dusted and moped the kitchen and all . we opened all the windows until it got to cool in here. I still have one cracked. and she was doing fine for awhile and now shes starting to sneeze again. Have any of you had any thing like this happen to your little ones? I dont think its Collapsing Trachea or reverse sneezing.Because shes not making the Honking Hacking snorting sounds. its just a whole lot of hard sneezing one right after another Then she cant breath. |

foxtail did your vet look up her nose for anything up inside i have to say your little girl reminds me of my little Piglett i smile everytime i see you little pic |
At different times, I have seen various dogs do several sneezes in a row. It was after they touched a flower or a weed or a frog. But never continuous sneezes for hours. It must be something in your house or on you....maybe perfume or hairspray. Or it could be just plain allergies like humans get, like hayfever. And even if you didn't so anything different, they could all of a sudden be allergic to it. If it continues, I would call the vet and see what you could give....such as benedryl. I'm sure that's what he'll say. But you'll have to find out the dosage depending on the weight. Good luck. |
She was asleep beside me and woke up sneezing. Yes the vet did look in her nose. Shes only sneezed a few times the last few hours. I sure hope she gets over what ever it is. atleast shes breathing good now. |
I am a pharmacy technician of 9 years and daughter of a pharmacist of over 30 years. You can give children's benadryl to a yorkie in an adjusted dose that is equivalent to the yorkie's weight. Children's benadryl liquid is 12.5 mg per mL. |
Ya! My vet told me to give it to Muffin. It helped us tremendously many times. :) |
