My puppy ate the wall!!! I am so worried! Left the little guy alone for one minute and he ate the freaking paint off the wall! He is acting fine now....its probably been an hour or two. He is 5 months old. I don't know if he ate any but I am assuming he did a little because there were alot of paint chippings on the carpet. Scared because this is a very old house and the bottom coat of paint is probably very, very old. Help! What should I watch for? There are no emergency vets in my town! |
There is no one for you to call? I'm so sorry, all I can do is bump this up for you. |
I have had the same thing happen. No harm done except to the wall. My house is around 100 years old. |
Maybe he will be okay since its been a couple of hours. I would watch for vomiting, runny poops, anything out of the ordinary. You said its an old house, hopefully there wasn't any lead in the paint. You don't have too much longer for Monday morning if he needs to go to vet. |

Tmorrow26: if your pup chews continues to chew on walls or woodwork, try some bitter apple spray as a deterrent. |
Thanks everyone! So far he seems to be okay. He slept all through the night and ate breakfast. Hopefully he didn't eat very much of it. I am still keeping an eye on him...... |
That's great news! Glad to hear your little boy is doing well. |

I don't know why, i just know that some can be like rats and chew everything in sight except their chew toys. I guess our next project will be to replace the woodwork |
Mine did this too once and he turned out totally fine but I freaked out just like you! These pups will chew anything that comes in contact with their little mouths I swear! |
Mine did this until she got bully sticks and himalyn (sp) chews, now thats all she chews. |
Rhett did this, too. Small little spot right behind the rocking chair. And my mom's boy loves baseboards! |
Glad he didn't get sick from the paint:) |
