Struvite Crystals
 
Teddy's struvite crystals are gone! The uro-eze worked and he is peeing big puddles. We have a consult with our veterinary nutritionist tomorrow to put Teddy on a new home cooked diet to help prevent the new struvite crystals from forming. We are thrilled that they are gone!

This is great news! Thank you Cathy for updating on Teddy. I'm so glad that you got a good report back for him. Now you can concentrate of keeping everyone healthy :thumbup:

Not out of the woods yet :(
 
Well apparently we are not out of the woods yet. We have to have an ultrasound to make sure Teddy does not have any stones. Apparently, a very small stone was noted at the last ultrasound, before we started the Uro-eze treatment.

So if Teddy no longer has the stone, then we may be able to conclude his medication worked and that the stone was probably a struvite because only struvites are dissolvable by diet/medication (i.e. changes to the bladder environment). If he still has a stone, then we are looking at surgery to remove the stone and then send it to the lab to see if it is a struvite or a calcium oxalate stone. I'm hoping we are dealing only with struvites.

Teddy seems better, I hope we do not need surgery.

We are praying that his next ultrasound shows no stones. Glad to hear to hear he is feeling a little better and we really hope Teddy doesn't need surgery.

Poor Teddy~let's keep thinking positive that he will be given an all clear after the ultrasound. Have you scheduled yet?
