Great news. Sorry to see Steve go, glad we are still able to get updates on Carlo! |
I'm pleased to hear Carlo is doing well. Still have him in my prayers. |
Glad Carlos is doing so well. It's great to hear upbeat stories from someone whose doggie is going through it. Wishing Steve and Carlos the best. ~Joanne~ |
Not much to report today, outside of the positive recovery he has consistently been showing to date. His blood test this morning looks terrific. Next week he goes in for his 8th and final Chemo Shot, and will be weened off of the Prednisone. He will also have an Ultrasound of his abdomen and an X-Ray of his lungs. That will be a $1400 day, but he is worth it. Still looking forward to his walks, and acting like a pup. So far, the expense of his treatment has come to 1/2 of what we paid for our first new home in NC years ago. Hope all is well with you. Say hi to all my good buddies. |

Carlo spent 6 hours at the Animal Hospital Today, and he just got home a few minutes ago. It has been a long 3 months. Today, he just received his 8th and final Chemo Shot of VinBlastin. He also had a Ultrasound, and an X-Ray. Glad to report that Carlo is Clean. All blood work looks great, no more mass, and all major systems are clean. He weighed in at 131, and looks great with a high energy level. He goes back in Next week for a CBC and Urinalysis, and then will start therapy with Palladia, as a prolonged therapy for the Mast Cell Tumor. He will take an oral tablet 3 days a week, and one Prednisone every 48 hours (Down from one 20Mg Prednisome every 24 hours). Looks like he will be on the oral drug the rest of his life, but it is not as potent as the VinBlastin that he gets IV. He will go back weekly for 4 weeks following the administration of Palladia to evaluate the CBC, then following that, every 4-6 weeks. The next full evaluation (CBC/GHP/Lytes, Urinalysis, Thoracic radiographs and Abdominal Ultrasound will be in 2 months. I will say it again. He is one tough old Dog. He is doing great, and looks forward to long walks, a nice nap, and quality time. |
Thanks so much for the update on Carlo. Way to go Boy  Tell Steve we need him back on YT. And thats an order!!! |
I\'ll bet it made Steve\'s day to hear that news. Go Carlo!:D |
