Help pixie!!!! Pixie just ate Daisy 100 mg of doxcycline. I called the vet and they said to induce vomiting we did and are waiting for her to throw up. they said to wait 10 min and try one more time if it doesn't work. I put the pill in a hot dog for Daisy she ate the hot dog and spit out the pill and Pixie grabbed the pill and ran. She ate the pill omg!!! They said it is 5 times the dosage for her I am worried sick Please pray that the hydogen peroxide works bc if it doesn't I have to bring her in for emergency. I am a wreck!!! |
sending good thoughts. this may sound silly but after giving her the hydrogen peroxide try and gentle shake her. it causes bubbles which induces vomiting faster! |

How is Pixie? I'm so worried for you! Maybe you should get right over to the ER vet. That's what I would do. Poor baby! |
Put a pinch of salt on her tongue when you give the peroxide. It makes it work better and faster. |

Back from the vets We just got back and after trying to induce two times we headed over to the vets right after the second dose bc we thought that if she threw up in the car we could turn around and if she didn't at least we were half way there. We got to the vets and they took her in the back to start iv and induce vomiting. 20 min later the vet walks in with Pixie's harness and no Pixie! OMG!!!! I started to cry and I felt so sick to my stomach and the vet said she is ok, I just wanted to show you the pill. Omg!! I guess bc we got there before the pill even dissolved and it was within 45 min of eating the pill. the fact that she had just eaten her dinner was a good thing too. Anyways I was a wreck!!! We had to wait about another 30 min bc they said she threw up a few more times. When they brought her back to me I could not stop kissing her. As soon as we got home she ran in the house and kissed her Daisy:p Thank you everyone for the prayers I know they helped:D Pixie are going to bed to cuddle, I think we both need it after tonight;) |

Oh I am so relieved! I was so worried about Pixie and you too. When you saw the harness and no Pixie --- I don't know--I think I would have just fainted. It is really good to know to get them to the vet to induce asap or induce yourself quickly enough so that hopefully the pill does will have a better chance of not dissolving. Thank goodness her belly was full too. OMgoodness....try to rest tonight. Cuddle Pixie and Daisy tightly too! |

Thank goodness your Pixie is okay! Good job bringing her to the ER. As Nico commented above, I would have fainted if they had brought out an empty harness. I hope you had a peaceful night's rest. Tell Daisy to get better ASAP and no more scary stuff from either of your girls! |

Oh boy - I hate it when they eat pills. One time Barney ate a whole dose of Proin that Daisy took for incontinence. I called the ASPCA poison who told me to go to the ER. Barney was purple by the time we got there and had to be hospitalized over night and put on blood pressure meds. It's good to make sure your H2O2 is always fresh and after you give it to induce vomiting, run the dog around and give bread. |
Oh my gosh, I just saw this today. I'm so sorry this happened, but super relieved that Pixie is ok! I've always had this fear when giving our three pills, it can happen so easily! Thank goodness everything turned out! Kisses to Pixie!! |
