Benedryl question and converting mg to ml So the vet said I could give Nestle (5.7 pounder) 1 mg per pound of body wgt. She gave me a ML syringe. Now what ? I am thinking just 1 ml. Does anyone out there know? She had a DHLP-Parvo shot tonight and seems tired and not herself. Should I just wait til morning.? (She did go on a half hour walk tonight). Maybe I am just a worrier?! |

The liquid I believe is 12.5 mg per ml (you can find that on the label).... So giving one ml was definitely too much! That would be giving her 12.5 mg and you wanted to give 5.7. Those shots can make them feel punky for about 24 hours. Hopefully, she is fine now! |
It's 12.5mg/5ml, so each ml is 2.5mg. Your vet wants 5mg, so that's 2ml (or just under 1/2 tsp). |

Thanks!!! I was too afraid to give her anything. She seems better today. I will keep this for future references. Thanks so much! |
Good to hear. :) Sorry we couldn't help sooner. :( Your vet or a tech really should be converting that for you, but I know sometimes we just don't think of asking until hanging up... |
