EmmaLee had to go back in to surgery She just wasn't acting right. My parents took her to their regular vet (instead of the 'specialist' who did the surgery) who diagnosed her with the hernia repair being done incorrectly. When they opened her up they found infected tissue and the muscle tight around the hernia. She's doing ok right now. She'll be able to come home either this evening or tomorrow depending on how she tolerates fluid. Then she'll be on antibiotics for a few days. The hardest part is going to be keeping her big brother away from her. He's been lost all day without her. |
So sorry to hear that. We'll be having a hernia repaired in a few months as well. |
oh that poor baby to have to go thru this again. I will keep Emmalee in my thoughts and prayers that all goes well and she can come home, healthy. Hugs. |
Poor baby. Hope she is on the mend soon. |
oh wow I hope she feels better soon |
Poor EmmaLee! Were they able to completely repair the hernia this time? It was astute of your parents to not hesitate to get her to their vet. I hope she recovers super fast so her big brother gets his buddy back. |
Yes, they were able to completely repair it today. Dr.Erickson at Coal Mountain is wonderful. She's already home and scrounging for food :) Oliver hasn't left the side of the crate since she's gotten home. |

We take the cats to Coal Mountain and occassionally one of the dogs. It's even the closest clinic to us. I usually take the dogs to the person I take agility classes from, Diane Castle, Union Hill Animal Hospital, but her hours aren't great and she is closed weekends. |
Glad to hear that she is on the road to recovery. |
That's awful for the poor lil girl. I hope she will recover without anymore problems. That just isn't fair and sounds like the "specialist" botched the surgery. I hope they told him about it. |
How is she doing now ? I just saw this thread |
