Slipped Disk? My 6 month old yorkie has been very lethargic recently. She lies around and just has no energy. She is not vomiting or having diarrhea. She has no appetite. We were worried about her diet but now she is arching her back. She also lies her head on the floor and leaves her butt in the air. It is like she is stretching her spine. She stays like this about 30 sec. She has been doing this more frequently. She goes to the vet tomorrow. Any ideas? |
Poor baby. It could be tummy problems, like gas. Whenever my Cali has her stomach upsets she arches her back. I hope she feels better soon. |
if stretching and putting butt in air that is a tummy issue usually but it is good thing no vomitting or diarrhea so hopefully vet will be able to figure it out tomorrow and give some relief. You may want to try a little organic canned pumpkin if constipated this is called a prayer position |
It sounds like she may have pancreatitis. Yorkies are prone to it. It can be very serious, even life threatening. What time is your appointment tomorrow? If she starts vomiting, has diarrhea or seems to get worse, I'd take her to the ER tonight. Pancreatitis (Inflammation) in Dogs |

with pancreatitis they will toss and turn as if they cannot get comfortable and will do the prayer position alot but they will vomit alot too |
i agree, she probably has an upset stomach. arching the back can mean digestion issues. |
vomiting She has started vomiting and rolls around and cannot get comfortable. I am really worried. I am debating on taking her to the emergency vet tonight or wait until the morning. So worried! |

holly Took Holly to vet and they kept her. She does not have pancreatitis but possibly liver shunts. They are doing the test. We are devastated. I am so sad. We are trying to be hopeful. Please pray for Holly. : ( |

keep us posted and there are alot of us with liver issue dogs on here. Mine has mvd. We will help you and there are two excellent yahoogroups.com for liver issues. First tell us what percentage of protein is in her food as that will help us? |
