Kia! Kia is out of surgery and doing well!!! The doctor found a ROCK in her stomach. It had been there at least 5-6months and had adhered to the lining of her stomach. poor baby girl! She also had all except her canines taken out. She has real bad infections in her gums. The teeth have probably never been cleaned. This is clearly a huge case of neglect of one tiny little yorkie girl and it just saddens me that she has been suffering like this for so long. We are bringing Kia home today around 5pm, I'll write more later tonight and let you know how she is doing. Thank you all for your support during this most difficult time. It's been a very stressful morning, we are so grateful she is ok, now the real healing can begin for Kia. Thanks again, and I'll let you know later. |
Thank goodness she's awake and doing well! I can't imagine having a rock in that tiny little tummy for so long. Maybe this will be just what she needs to get her appetite back. Thanks for the update. :) |
OMG ~ Thank you sooooo much for taking her and lovin her and getting her health. So sad that she was neglected and abused in her previous home - just disgusting.... |

ALL THE BEST TO HER and you too - what an ordeal and it really does hurt your heart to know she's been suffering :(...but now she's in good hands. I hope her recovery goes well and and she feels better really soon |
I'm so glad she doing well. Wow, how did that little baby make it that long with a rock in her tummy? Talk about a little survivor. Talk about a lucky little girl! What an amazing rescue story! And she can come home today? Good things are in store for that little girl, I'm sure you mean to see to that. She sure deserves the great life you'll give her. |
I am so glad to hear she will be home soon and on her way to recovery and a better life. That's great she has you. |
Home for Good.... Kia is home and in her special bedroom we had set up for her. I have the rock in a bottle sitting right here, I'll take pic's and post it in my photo's on this site so you guys can see it. It looks like a piece of asphalt, it's pretty large for one so small to have actually eaten it. The vet feels that maybe someone shoved it down her throat as it's really NOT something that she would have eaten. (seriously) I now see why she had no appetite and also had a problem walking around. Our little miracle girl is settled down in her bed, she's warm and much loved. Hopefully all of you can follow Kia's story on a different thread as we are really believing that she has now started the healing process....Thanks again....(I'm also going to put pictures up of Kia in her BEAUTIFUL SOFT COLLAR!-She has not fought the collar since we put it on her! Thank you sooo much!) |
