sneezing??? Lately Maisy has been sneezing sooo much! outside, inside, while shes playing ALL the time! do any of you know if the vet can perscribe medicine to make her stop?? because they did when she had kennel cough a while back. Is sneezing treatable?? |
It could be something as simple as an allergy which is very treatable. Have you contacted the breeder to see if either of the parents have allergies? They are not always genetic but sometimes they are.. |
We have a sneezer, too. :) The vet says that he has a condition where his palate is too short (or something like that). Anyway, the vet says that he will always be prone to respiratory problems because stuff will get stuck up in his nose just due to the shape of his head. If you look at our avatar, you might be able to see that one of the dogs has a much shorter snout than the other. He's the sneezer. We were a little troubled by it at first, but we're used to his sneezing now. He had a perpetually runny nose for the first few months we had him, but that seems to have stopped. He also makes this terrific honking noise occasionally, like he's trying to clear his sinuses. It was scary at first, but it doesn't seem to bother him at all. The vet wasn't worried about it, and neither are we. |
2 weeks ago Mac had to go to the emergency vet becuase he was sneezing for 15 minutes straight. I thought he was having some kind of seizure. By the time we got to the vet it stopped. She said he probably just sniffed something and it got into his sinuses. I brought him to his regular vet the next day becuase he still has a tendency to sneeze alot. He said he my have a sensitive nose. |
This is the problem we are having today. My Minnie got up sneezing and it lasted so long that she had ahard time breathing. and just kept doing it over and over. I to took her to the vet he checked her out and said she was fine. well it scared me to death. she seems a litle better now. but still sneezing just not as bad. |
I wonder if a little bit of cherry flavored children's benedryl would help? If so, then it would most likely be allergies, wouldn't it? |
I never thought of this being a problem, but then again Bender has never sneezed 15 minutes straight. We actually taught him to sneeze (fake sneeze) whenever he wants to go potty or wants something in general. It worked really well, less barking. Do you think that teaching him this could affect him in some unhealthy way? So far all his vet checks have been stellar...but now I'm worried about long term. |
I dont think fake sneezing should hurt him in any way. |
