Not sure what is wrong. About four times since Fizz has come to live with us he has thrown up in the morning...One time each time...always clear with just a tiny spot of bubbles. Then he is fine amd goes about his business as though nothing happened. He will not eat in the morning...mostly anytime after about 9 am he will eat a little...them eats normal at lunch and dinner. His stoll is normal, he is active, and seems right in every sense. Any idea why he would do this in the morning like that? |
Could it be anxiety ? Since it's in the morning it could also be just sour stomach from the night.....Try bland food and see if he'll eat it |
Maybe try a few treats last thing at night, and/or feed him his dinner a bit later in the evening. Some dogs vomit foamy liquid in the morning from having an empty stomach too long overnight. He may refuse food in the AM bc he just vomited. If he stops, try offering him a small breakfast in the AM |
As kjc posted this is most likely due to an empty stomach. Ruby, my smallest has done this before and even Reno has a few times. Neither of them are real interested in having their breakfast early, but will always eat a few kibbles for me and this does prevent them getting sick. Also, I used to give them a small snack right before bed time and that seems to help too. |
For night time snack is regular food okay or can this be a treat too? Just curious. |

Cooper too used to vomit like that in the mornings. The vet said poor baby was hungry. Like everyone else suggests you should give him a little something before bed. |
I will have to work on that...he is not extremely food motivated...so if he won't eat a couple of kibble...I will have to find something he loves... |
