Help, Miloh is sick!! Good morning to all! My 6 month-old baby Miloh is sick. Yesterday at about 5 00pm I was eating and getting ready to leave for class. I was making sure I had all my materials and didn't see Miloh had eaten a piece of meat that had fallen on the floor. Before leaving for class my sister pointed out that Miloh didn't look so well. I was scared and worried after seeing white foam come out of his mouth and it looked like he was trying to throw-up but couldn't. His heavy breathing and white foam continued to come out, that's when I called my boyfriend and decided to rush him to the hospital. :( Once we made it to the hospital, they checked his temperature and said he would be just fine. They prescribed him medicine (Sucralfate oral sups.) he needs to take every 8 hours for 5 days. As of now, I have been waking up every 2 hours to check-up on him and make sure he's okay. I feel terrible, my baby was always running around the house at this time, now he's stuck in bed. Is there anything I can do to help him feel better soon??? Miloh won't eat nor drink water, I feel useless. |
Miloh Did they check his liver? Yorkies are prone to live problems. My neighbor's yorkie started throwing up about five months ago. She couldn't stop. They found out she has some type of live problems, but thank goodness it's not liver shunt. She takes meds everyday and it seems to be controlling it. You might want to make sure he didn't swallow anything and it's lodged in his throat. Good luck |
No they didn't check his liver, they just checked his temperature and stomach. Said it must have been that the meat was greasy, he hasn't thrown up all night but did show possible signs of diarrhea in the middle of the night. A few minutes ago I was able to get him to drink some water. I will call my vet and ask if they can do the liver check, thank you. |
Miloh I just joined this website because I found it searching for answers. I unknowingly purchased a puppy that had giardia, coccidia, and ringworm. She infected my other two dogs also. The giardia made them throw up and have diarrhea. Pepto helped. By the time I got to the vet, my oldest yorkie, 3lb-not quite 1.5 years) was a little better. Pepto helped, but she still had some very soft poops. The vet said she didn't have giardia. Well my other dog did the same thing about a week and a half later (she doesn't have much contact with the other two). I told the vet that she does have it and when she goes in Monday, I will have the vet check it more than just the float test. Giardia does not show up in every stool, unless, like my puppy, she has a high count. Good luck. I hope he feels better. Follow your heart though, the vet is not always correct. They told me that my oldest yorkie just had an upset tummy!! ha ha |
I'm sorry your baby is not feeling well. |

Oh no! I'm sorry Miloh isn't feeling well. If he ate a piece of greasy or fatty meat like ham or bologna that's not good. :( Please have your vet check his liver. They can also get pancreatitis from fatty foods. If he is not eating well make sure to give him nutrical too. Is he doing better now? |

Nutrical is a high calorie paste supplement. I think you can get it at petco, if not at the vet's for sure. It has sugars, vitamins, and omega fatty acids. Good for when you baby won't eat, put about a pea size on your finger and scrape it off to the roof of his mouth to get him some needed calories. If they don't eat they can get hypoglicemia. Make sure he eats something if you can't get nutrical today. Try a small spoon of cottage cheese, or some plain boiled chicken. He just needs to have something in his tummy since he is so small. |
How did I forget to mention Nutrical??? Erica, get him some of this ASAP. He's so tiny, and with no food in his system he can go into hypoglycemic shock. A little nutrical is all he needs and it can even jump start his appetite. |

Just wanted to update everyone on Miloh's condition. My little guy is doing well, this morning he was up and began walking around the house as normal. He even ate some kibble and has been drinking lots of water. He'll be getting a blood test done today. I can't even explain how happy I am to see that he is better, thank you capt_noonie & DvlshAngel985 for your helpful tips! |
