Prayers for your little guy. Glad to see some positive responses. Are you seeing a specialist? What precautions are the taking because of his CT? Will be looking for updates. ~Joanne~ |

Sending prayers and light your way. Welcome to yt .. |
Sending prayers for a successful surgery. I used to work for a vet surgeon and he did this operation a lot. Is your dog unaltered by chance? Its most common in unaltered older males. So the patient gets castrated before the hernia is repaired. Most patients did very well but some did have problems defecating afterward depending on how long the problem has been going on i think, and the diet/meds he is taking. |

Hi everyone, thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers. Yes, Kalina, Toby was unaltered but now, during the op, he has been castrated. He got through the op ok, thank God, although it was complicated and as well as two surgeries to correct the hernia, and the castration, he had to have some teeth out too. He is staying in overnight and I hope to collect him and bring him home tomorrow afternoon. He is small but feisty! |

Glad it went well for him. He must feel like he's been thru the mill.:) |
UPDATE - collected Toby home last night and he is pretty good I think considering all he has had done! He can walk and has been in the garden to do some wobbly wees, and he had a small supper last night. Drinking well, but not very interested in food really. He is now lying on the sofa next to me, with his hotwaterbottle. I think so far so good, and he will make a full recovery I hope. Thanks for all your messages and positive vibes. |
Welcome! Sending good energy and good prayers! :animal36 |
