Very concerned about puppy I have 13 wek old little angel and she has had loose stools on and off since I got her at 8 weeks, but they became more frequent and worse. Vet checked stool, gave antibiodics and she is now eating chicken and rice. She did better for a few days but it is at it's worst now. vet gave more meds, but no answers. I am very concerned. has this ever happened to any one before? |
Oh im sorry to hear the meds are not helped yet. Im not sure what to say to help. Im sure some one will come around and help you soon. Good luck. |
I am so sorry to hear that, hopefully the medication will start working you are in my prayers |
I have heard of this happening on several dogs with several causes..It could be irritable bowel syndrome; campylobacter; an intolerance to a food product; bowel bacteria not at normal levels.. I am wondering about BeneBac, Probiotic as food supplements. Meds could be metronidazole, panacur (a wormer that is also used for bowel problems NOT worm related),doxycycline;and several other antibiotics..Have you asked the breeder about her experience with such problems? NO dairy products or grains...Maybe the vet has a prescription diet you can try... I am no expert but I can think of several things that could be ruled out..You can find some info on line or in a vet home med book.. Best of luck with your baby. |
I'm sorry your baby is sick. I hope she gets well soon. Tucker's Mom |
I'd take her to a different vet and get a second opinion and let them know what's been going on. if you haven't gotten any answers from the first vet, it's about time to get some. good luck. |
