Something's wrong with Callie Callie isn't acting right tonight. She's lethargic, and wimpers a lot. She can't seem to find a comfortable position to lay in. When I came home from work she didn't attack me like she usually does, normally she jumps and licks all over me but tonight she barely even came over to me.My husband said she hasn't eaten anything she shouldn't have, and she didn't get hurt, I'm worried..can someone give me a suggestion. (I can't get in touch with my vet until tomorrow) Someone please help me..I'm scared to death that this is something bad. |
Bump!!!! |
Is there an emergency vet available or phone number you could call?? |
bump somebody give some suggestions..... |
Emily, Where in Kansas are you located? Let's see if there are any after-hours places near you that you could either call or visit. |
The only 24 hr vet I know is in Hutchinson...I don't know there #, but you could find it in the phone book or online & call them? Good luck!! Hope she feels better! |
This could be a dumb suggestion & completely off the wall, but there's no way she could be pregnant is there? |
or, even if you didn't notice it, she may have been overzealous and hurt herself. is she limping or whimpering when she moves around? |
If you call your vet's office number, there should be a recording giving you a 24-hour emergency number to call. I'm sorry about Callie. It's scary when you don't know what it is that is wrong. I just saw this post. Hugs to Callie and you, too. |
So sorry she isn't feeling well and you don't know what's wrong! That's the worst! Keep us posted on how she is doing!!! |
My Yorkies have had these symptons before. In each of these different cases it was some kind of bacterial infection in the stomach. I couldn't figure out what might have caused it each time but I know there are several reasons this can happen. Just like you this happend at night time or on a week end. The first couple of times it happened I took the dog to the emergency vet. The 3rd time I figured it out and administered a pinch of (people) antibiotics every 4 hours that I happened to have in my cupboard . Anyways, in each case they were on anitbiotics and made a very quick recovery. I don't know if this is the same thing your baby has, but until you see a vet be SURE to slowly force water with a syringe in her mouth. They can get dehydrated so fast. Also, if you have some nutri-cal or baby food (meat) try to put some in her mouth and make sure she swallows. Hope Callie is feeling better by the time you read this post. |
lathargia might be signs of puppy parvo virus. that's usually the first sign of it, this can be VERY deadly in small toy breeed puppies, i lost a pom puppy to it. they get sleepy lose there appetite ,and later they vomit and have watery stool. i'd look up some symptoms about it on google. BUt i'm sure ur babies fine! Keep us posted!!! hope she's okay! :) |

Thank you all!! I guess she was mad at me or something and I was worried about nothing because today when we got up she was spunkier than usual and seems to be fine...BUT we are going to the vet any way to check her out. After almost losing both of my kids when they were younger I tend to overreact about everything, and as far as I'm concerned Callie is just another one of my babies...so she's gonna get it too.:) Thank you all for your help!!! |
I'm soooooo glad to hear she's better! :) |
