Help walking problem! Hello Everyone, Today I was playing out side with tucker with his huge ball that he loves. Tucker runs so fast ( just like a bunny rabbit) and he sort of jumped and rolled over the ball and did something maybe to his hind leg? I am not really sure because he walks on it 3/4 of the time, but sometimes he walks only three footed. Tucker just had a check up last month with the vet, and I asked about his knees and the Dr. said he was perfect. Could this be early stages of a luxating patella? He has never had knee problems before. Is this an emergency? HELP PLEASE! He can do everything normal he got on the couch alone walks up the steps alone. I hope I am not over or under reacting. Tucker has never been hurt in the three years I have had him so I am really worried. |

Sorry I don't have any advice. I just wanted to wish you and Tucker well. |
Rest him for 5 days as much in the crate as possible - no more jumping on or off, carry up/downstairs, you can try a cold pack on the knee for 5 minutes as often as possible during the day (aim for 3 times a day for the 5 days) Also you bring into vet - ask for an xray hip/knee/ankle Have you palpated the joints to see if it is tender to touch? |
yes i did. he does not mind it its just so odd becasue he still wants to run and jump, but then he is so moopy (sp?) at the same time. He can walk on it most of the time but then he will just randomly start to walk three footed. So it must bother him. |
