Knee issues :(This past weekend my little 3.62lb 8 mo Yorkie was running around the backyard with another bigger (8lb) Yorkie. They were running side by side and then all of a sudden my little one was rolling under the bigger dog and yelping. She limped a little at first but seemed ok after a few minutes. Since then she has limped, or yelped and limped a couple of times. As a pup she often bunny hopped when playing and someone said this could be an early sign of lp issues. I just thought that was a puppy thing. What do you think, could she just have pulled something or is this the start of lp issues. Thanks for any input. |
She could have just pulled something... you may want to have her knees checked next time you are at the vet just in case. |
Thanks She is going Friday for her spay and I will ask him to do a check on that. Hopefully I won't be so flummoxed that I forget. |
Even if you do forget, the vet should be checking her knees. Whenever I take my pups to my vet for anything, they get a thorough exam which includes checking their knees. I always suggest to people that they watch their vet examine their pups carefully. Watching to see if they check knees, ears, eyes, throat, hips...lungs, heart. If they don't then honestly I would think about another vet. Another suggestion: When you go to your vet, take a list of questions with you. That way you will not forget. That is also good for when you go to your own doctor. It is SO easy to forget things when you are in with a doctor. |
