Need Help!!!!!! Non-Yorkie but trust your opinions!!!! If anyone can help here would be greatley appreciated! My son has a husky...she ate about a 1/2 pack of gum a few days ago and isn't feeling well now....he said she hasn't pooped in a couple of days and is pacing and whinning. He called the vet and the vet doesn't seem too concerned, he made an appointment for Tuesday. I think she's constipated....I told him to give her some pure pumpkin.....will that help? What else can you try to get them to have a bowel movement????? She probably weighs close to 100 lbs. Thank you so much for helping and I feel your opinions are so helpful! |

if it is toxins a plasma transfusion will help and iv fluids if it is real severe so take him in to ER |
If the gum contained xylitol, it can throw sugar way off, but not long after that stage, the liver can be severely affected. If it did hav xylitol, this is a medical emergency. |
He can call the ER and they will tell him right, from all that comes into the ER they know what is urgent or can wait til morning to see the regular vet. I have done this and they have even given me advice how to handle it myself or just until my vets office opens, and it was free. Did the vet tell him to take him in on Tuesday ? |
