Bella sick again.. I think Bella (16 weeks) has had her ups and downs so far but today she threw up her breakfast twice and has had diarrhea. She is still so lively and has been better since she threw up. The throw up was her breakfast and it didn't look like it was digested at all, still full pieces of her kibble. Her nose is wet and cold. She is drinking but I am hesitant to give her more food. I took her for a car ride yesterday and it ended up being about 2 and half hours (traffic and wrong directions to the airport) and then last night late she got in her XPEN and ate her left over dinner at 12:30 am. Do you think that it could be the stress of the drive and the late night meal? I know everyone is going to say to bring her to the vet but I want to have some more input before we have to rack up another big vet bill. |
I personally would not rush her tro the vet over one incident, however, if it continues I would. I could be the stress from the car ride. I would not feed her again right away, give her stomach a chance to settle. |
make sure she stays hydrated and if you can boil up chicken and rice something bland for her tummy, the stress of the ride could of done it, just keep an eye on your baby |
they can get stress colitis and when the entire tract is inflamed they will throw up and have diarrhea - mine gets it when going to vet some times so i soak kibble to be able to digest better and feed small meals until she keeps it down how is she doing now? |
Thank you so much! she is doing better but her ears are flapped over and from what I have learned, this is bad. She is very energetic and I have been making her drink water so thats the good thing she is drinking water a lot. I am not sure if she is sick or the stress from a long car ride, but I just want to make sure she is ok. I am worried about her ears going down though! I will update tomorrow morning |
How old is Bella ? Just a thought here, but I have seen teeth cause these symptoms. If she's teething the ears often do silly things and sometimes they vomit because they don't handle pain well. Has your vet checked her teeth ? Oh , Just went back and saw that she is 16 wks so maybe it's her teeth. |

The throwing up and diarrhea is not a good thing and it is not related to chewing ... if it continues the vet visit is your best bet. If it stops it may have been just an isolated thing. You can give some "pedialite" to keep her hydrated , small ammounts, and start slow with the food, little ammounts until she feels better 100% . XOXO |
Has she been checked for Coccidia ? |
