My yorkie has been snorting all his life and they told us its A collapsing trachea as well but he was never caughing. Just snorting. They started talking about surgery and a stent and I also felt it was a little too aggresive so took him go another vet in vancouver BC and its elongated palate even though he does have a collapsing trachea that is not what is causing the snorting. So glad I went to get a second opinion. Xray is a must. Hope this helps someone! |
My Tigger has been having trouble breathing, especially when eating, drinking or running around and playing. I took him to the vet a couple of months ago, they did xrays and said his trachea, heart and lungs are good. They suspect elongated soft palate. I’m terrified! He has an appointment with a specialist on Oct 31. I’ve read about the surgery and idk what to think. It sounds pretty bad. I got him from an animal shelter 6 yrs ago. He was in horrible shape. He’s doing so well and tries to protect me from everyone and everything. He’s prob 8 or 9 yrs old. Don’t know what I’d do if I lost him...😭 |
