I am baffled.... Right as I was going to bed, a few hours ago, Rucker started making horrible noises...at first I thought he was sneezing but then I realized he was gagging like he was going to throw up. It scared me so I have been sleeping with him on the couch, and he has been gagging ever since off and on, and then making a throwing up action but never throwing up. He did this for 4 hours! Also I have been hearing rumbling noises from his tummy which is unusual. The weird thing is that I just got up with him to potty, and he ate his treat and some of his regular food! Now he is on my lap as I type this and I have not heard a single gagging sound from him. Could he have had something in his throat that the food cleared away? What in the world? I was all ready to take him to the vet as soon as they opened, but now he appears fine. I am so confused. |
I have been sitting here with him for 20 minutes now, and not one gagging sound. It appears he DID have something in his throat this whole time. Wow. I'm so glad that he is now ok. |
He could have had something lodged but if his stomach was rumbling he may have needed food |
Bogie did that same gagging thing once. It scared me to death. His favorite ball is a chuck it ball which looks like a little basketball and is made out of the same material as a basketball. He had been playing with it and it rolled under the bed and got a dust bunny on it (i need to vac under bed LOL) The lint was on the back of his tongue and that made him gag and throw up. His tummy wasn't rumbling though. |
Rosie was doing this yesterday evening, she's always sniffing around so probably inhaled something. She eventually brought up some white phlem and what ever was causing the problem as she was fine after. |
Just read your posr. How's Rucker doing now? |
I would check and make sure nothing is stuck down his throat. Than I would give him some sugar water and see if he does better you might want to give him a little mylanta if his stomach doesn't settle down. He must have eatten something that upset his little belly poor baby. Well hope he feels better soon. |

Glad he is better. |
Bilbo will do that when he gets something (anything--a piece of dried grass, fuzz from his now departed tennis ball, etc.) stuck in his throat. He's used to Mama sticking her fingers in his mouth. If I can't fish it out, I'll stick my finger tip in peanut butter and let him lick it off. Seems like the foreign object sticks to the peanut butter and it goes down. Then I try to get him to drink some water. |
