Please help! High ALT and BUN values...worried. :( Hello fellow yorkie lovers! I have a little boy named Mongki and he is 6 yrs old. He went in this morning to get some of his teeth extracted and the vet. technician came in stating his blood work was bit too hard to proceed with the extraction. His BUN and ALT values were bit high so they did Urinallysis and Bile acid tests on him today. His BUN value was 36 (reference range is 6-29) and his ALT value was 115 (reference range is 5-65). When he had blood work done last year, his BUN was 25 and ALT was 91. So i don't know, should I be very concerned? He "seems" healthy, meaning he eats fine and runs around like a bunny all day long. Could it be that I am giving him too much treats? I feed him and his brother chicken breast with rice every morning and let him eat his kibbles whenever he wants throughout the day (he doesn't eat much of this). Sigh...please give me your opinions ladies and gents! Thanks! :animal-pa |
